A Creation Born Out Of Passion For The Art... |
I
love to mix pleasure with work. Because when I do that, work is
no longer work.
I love pottery and I love designing websites. So I designed and
launched my own website in 2001 to display and 'immortalise' my
work since I fancy giving away most of the pieces that I made. Many
pottery friends then approached me expressing interest to have online
galleries of their own. Some wanted it as a personal artistic expression,
some wanted it as an online album of sort, and others wished to
market themselves and their pottery via the Internet to the world.
Come to think of it, there are not many avenues for potters and
pottery enthusiasts to display their arts. Unless you're famous
and your creations draw good profits, your works are unlikely to
be accepted at the high street galleries. You then end up keeping
all your works at home, away from exposure and the opportunity to
share your arts with others.
Well, that motivated me to create Clay-Street.com - a virtual space
for all potters and pottery enthusiasts to own your personal online
gallery.
Clay-Street is a non-judgemental place for everyone. I don't judge
the works of members nor stipulate any minimum standards for display.
But I do require members to submit good quality images or photographs
to do justice to their own works. In the absence of the sense of
touch, good visual representation is a must-have in an online gallery
for appreciation of pottery.
Over the years, Clay-Street has widened its network and hosted
a few renowned potters from overseas for a series of talks and workshops.
In addition, as a result of feedback and enquiries, we are pleased
to offer innovative pottery classes and programs in 2007.
Keep your feedback, comments and suggestions coming for you are
my source of inspiration to continuously improve this website and
its offerings.
Drop by Clay-Street anytime. Have fun playing with clay.
