Three solo exhibitions have been held at Whiteman Park Pottery. The first being "A step back in Time", which was a virtual town from the 1900's Australia, made to scale from clay. This included, Municipal Chambers, Hotels, Bakery, Churches, Railway station, Four wheeled covered carts, dilapidated windmills, and water tanks.
The second was named "Form and Finesse", which reflected the journey I was on at the time. It was an exhibition that showcased mainly handbuilt forms, reflecting the clays and colours of Australia. I experimented with a few different techniques, which I feel were very successful.
The most recent exhibition was held in March of this year, titled "Out of the Round". It took six months of work, but excitement of trying out different ideas, was very fulfilling. It was a huge learning experience for me and I was very proud of the body of work produced. The exhibition was a big success for me, with half of the pieces selling on the opening day.
I have shared many exhibitions with other members of Whiteman Park Pottery over the years, and remain forever interested in furthering my knowledge of clay and glazes. |
